Fallon Health now accepting Community Benefits Grant program applications
Worcester, Mass., June 19, 2018 — Fallon Health, a mission-focused, community-based not-for-profit health care services organization, announced today the return of its Community Benefits Grant program for 2018. Fallon will award $100,000 in grants to help fund innovative, community-based programs that support health initiatives for children, youth and seniors.
The first step in Fallon’s online application process is submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI). Organizations meeting the criteria are encouraged to submit the LOI application by June 29 at 5 p.m. The Community Benefits Committee will review the LOIs and invite a select number of organizations back in September to submit full applications. The application deadline is October 12 with grants announced and awarded in December 2018.
Fallon’s Community Benefits Grant program enters its 12th year, having distributed more than $1.3 million to local organizations along the way.
“Through our Community Benefits Grant program, Fallon has seen firsthand the impact these funds have on addressing the barriers to positive health outcomes in the communities we serve,” said Kimberly Salmon, Director of Community Engagement at Fallon Health. “Fallon partners with non-profits to address social determinants of health, such as transportation and access to food, that prevent our most populations from achieving positive health outcomes.”
Grants will be awarded to new programs or for the expansion of existing programs that serve targeted populations across our entire service area throughout Massachusetts with a particular focus on the following counties: Berkshire, Bristol, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex and Worcester. Last year, ten organizations received grants that totaled $100,000. These organizations were selected from 123 applicants who submitted an LOI.
