Fallon Health Weinberg appoints John Thurairajah, M.D., CMD as Medical Director
Worcester, Mass., March 15, 2018 — Fallon Health Weinberg is pleased to announce the appointment of John Thurairajah, M.D., CMD as Medical Director.
Dr. Thurairajah will oversee Fallon Health Weinberg’s PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) and MLTC (Managed Long-Term Care) programs. Both programs offer coordinated care options for adults who wish to remain living as independently as possible in their community. Dr. Thurairajah is responsible for the delivery and oversight of participant care; clinical outcomes and implementation; quality assessment and performance, and medical policies and protocols. He is also responsible for the medical leadership of the program among staff, colleagues, and provider, business and community partners.
In addition, Dr. Thurairajah is Medical Director of Weinberg Campus at the Rosa Coplon Living Center where he leads patient care in sub-acute rehabilitation, long-term care and home health care. He also serves as Medical Director for Alpine Home Health Care, as a consultant and member of their professional advisory committee, and is an attending physician and consultant at Hospice Buffalo, where he provides hospice and palliative care services to terminally ill patients in a long-term care setting.
Prior to his current roles, Dr. Thurairajah was a hospitalist at Buffalo General Medical Center and assistant clinical professor for the Department of Medicine/Geriatrics with the State University New York (SUNY) at Buffalo Medical-Dental Consortium.
Dr. Thurairajah holds a number of academic distinctions from Austria, the United Kingdom and the United States. He earned his doctorate of general medicine from the University of Vienna in Austria.
He is a member of the American Medical Director’s Association, the Society for Post-Acute and Long Term Medicine and American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review.
Dr. Thurairajah currently resides in East Amherst with his wife and two children.
