Fallon Health’s Board of Directors elects officers

Frederick M. Misilo, Esq., to serve as the new Chair of the nationally recognized, 
non-profit health care services organization   

Worcester, Mass., July 31, 2018 — Fallon Health announced today that a group of prominent business leaders has been elected by the Board of Directors to serve as officers of the nationally recognized, non-profit health care services organization. Leading the Board will be Chair Frederick M. Misilo, Esq., a member of the Board since 2012 and a partner and officer at the law firm of Fletcher Tilton.

“We’re fortunate to have officers who have demonstrated steady, dynamic and sustained leadership at a time of dramatic change in the health care industry,” said Richard Burke, Fallon’s President and CEO. “They will help keep us on the path of long-term growth and stability, and allow Fallon to fulfill our mission of making our communities healthy.”

Other officers elected to one-year terms include: 

  • B. John Dill, President and CEO of Colebrook Realty Services, Inc. and Affiliates, who was elected Vice Chair. Dill was first appointed to the Board in 2014 and previously served as Clerk.
  • Ann K. Tripp, Chief Investment Officer of The Hanover Insurance Group and President of Opus Investment Management, Inc., a registered investment advisor and subsidiary of The Hanover Insurance Group, who was re-elected Treasurer. Tripp was first appointed to the Board in 2012 and has served as Treasurer since 2014. 
  • James Buonomo, previously in leadership roles at Nypro, Inc., a global solutions provider of manufactured precision plastic products, who was elected Clerk. Buonomo was first appointed to the Board in 2013. 

Misilo, who replaces David W. Hillis as Chair, was first appointed to the Fallon Health Board in 2012 and elected Vice Chair last year. He is an officer at Fletcher Tilton as well as Chair of its Elder Law and Special Needs Practice Group and its Trust and Estate Department. He also serves on the firm’s Management Committee. One of the nation’s leading elder law and special needs attorneys, Misilo focuses his practice on elder law, special needs planning, estate planning, estate and trust administration, guardianship, and adult service advocacy. 

“Fred’s commitment to improving the lives of those who live and work in the community strongly aligns with the mission of Fallon Health,” said Burke. “In addition to providing business acumen, Fred will be a passionate and tireless advocate for all those we serve.”  

Fallon Health has recently achieved a number of historic milestones, including its highest ever membership (276,893 members as of May 31, 2018) and the successful launch of three Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) as part of the state’s reform of MassHealth.
