Application period for Fallon Health Community Impact Grants now open

$150,000 in grants will support community-based priorities, including food insecurity and health initiatives for older adults

Worcester, Mass., April 4, 2022 ― Fallon Health announced today it is accepting applications for its annual Community Impact Grants program. Grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000, totaling $150,000 overall, will be awarded to innovative, community-based programs that focus on addressing food insecurity and/or health initiatives for older adults. Applications are due by 5 p.m., April 29, 2022, and must be submitted electronically at fallonhealth.org/community.

Established in 2004, Fallon’s Community Impact Grants program has awarded nearly $2 million to local organizations. The program is aligned with guidelines from the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.

“The annual Community Impact Grants program showcases Fallon’s continued commitment to our mission of improving health and inspiring hope,” said Fallon Health President and CEO Richard Burke. “We are proud to partner with local organizations that make a positive impact in the community and look forward to collaborating with even more of them this grant cycle.”

In 2021, Fallon provided support to 11 organizations directly helping with COVID-19 efforts.

“Fallon Health’s Community Impact Grant helped us to address a great need in Berkshire County,” said Peter Gazzillo, Director of Nutritional Health at Berkshire Health Systems. “Our population is growing older, food security is hitting 10 percent of households in the Berkshires, and we are geographically isolated. COVID-19 added an additional layer of isolation. The funds from Fallon were used for technology and community partnerships to bring our youth and elderly population together. We thank Fallon for being part of the solution.”

Eligible programs include those with new or existing projects that address one or more of our focus areas for funding. They must also serve targeted populations within Fallon’s service area, with a focus on those in Berkshire, Middlesex and Worcester counties.

How to apply

  1. Step 1: Submit a letter of intent before 5 p.m., April 29, 2022, through our online application site.
  2. Step 2: If your letter of intent is accepted, you will be invited to apply for a Community Impact Grant.
  3. Step 3: Applications are due through our online submission process by 5 p.m. on July 1, 2022
