Fallon Health presents Community Impact Award to Karin Daigle of Worcester

Award recognizes Fallon’s ongoing commitment to volunteerism

Community Award winner, 2021Worcester, Mass., January 26, 2021— Fallon Health, a mission-based, community-focused not-for-profit health care services organization, is proud to present its annual Community Impact Award to Worcester resident Karin Daigle, Senior Graphic Designer.

Daigle was chosen among hundreds of volunteers at Fallon, who collectively found ways to safely give back during the pandemic.

“At Fallon Health, we are fortunate to have so many colleagues who are dedicated to our mission of making our communities healthy,” said Richard Burke, President and CEO of Fallon Health. “Over the years, Karin has always been engaged in the work we do. But during the past year, she has really stepped up, even more so since the pandemic. She consistently demonstrates excellence in engagement and volunteerism, and also in inspiring others to follow her lead.”

Fallon’s Community Impact Award recognizes excellence in one or more of the following ways:

  • Volunteering and contributing significantly to improving the quality of life for others through hands-on work
  • Engaging volunteers in an innovative and creative style
  • Exemplifying inspirational leadership and initiative through teaching, coaching, organizing, serving on boards and committees and/or other leadership roles within the community
  • Acting courageously and performing in an outstanding manner in an emergency situation
  • Demonstrating an overall extraordinary commitment to volunteering, creating a lasting impression on our community

A key area of focus for both Fallon and Daigle has long been food security. In the past, Daigle has helped organize and work on several projects to build and restock local food pantries. And when the pandemic exacerbated the need, she stepped up to help lead a successful holiday drive with employees resulting in 416 bags of food for families in need. Daigle has also been on a number of the Worcester Together Group subcommittees and assisted with creating flyers and dropping off supplies.

Additionally, Daigle has participated in numerous Fallon initiatives, including being an active member of the organization’s Council for Cultural Competence, serving as a champion of Fallon’s Values and is a contributor to the United Way Committee. She also volunteers for numerous Fallon-sponsored events each year such as the Canal Diggers Road Race, and the Worcester St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Dragon Boat Races and Pride Parade. And she volunteers on her own at the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester.

“Now, more than ever, the community needs our support, and I’m happy to give back,” said Karin Daigle upon accepting the award. “Throughout the year, Fallon offers many opportunities to get involved. I’m proud of the work we do together and am humbled to be recognized in this way.”
