Fallon Health names Randi Berkowitz, M.D. Associate Medical Director of its Summit ElderCare® Program

Randy BerkowitzWorcester, MA, January 26, 2021— Fallon Health, a nationally recognized, not-for-profit health care services organization, today announced the recent hire of Randi Berkowitz, M.D. as Associate Medical Director of Summit ElderCare®, one of the organization’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

Dr. Berkowitz is a practicing geriatrician with more than 30 years’ experience directing clinical programs for vulnerable populations. In her role as Associate Medical Director, she is responsible for assisting with supervising the medical care delivery of the 1,200 participants enrolled in Fallon’s five PACE locations in Massachusetts. Fallon Health also operates Fallon Health Weinberg-PACE in New York and is the largest provider of PACE in New England and the sixth largest in the country.

Dr. Berkowitz joins Fallon from Lowell Community Health Center (Lowell CHC) where she served as Chief Medical Officer. Under her leadership, Lowell CHC launched its first Accountable Care Organization (ACO) to provide better patient outcomes and address the social determinants of health. Previously she worked for MassHealth as Medical Director, Accountable Communities of Health, and played a key role in designing and implementing the state’s Medicaid payment reform and creation of the ACO model.

Dr. Berkowitz earned a medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker Medical School in Chicago, Illinois and a bachelor of arts and sciences in biology from Barnard College at Columbia University in New York, New York.
