Fallon Health and Discover Central Massachusetts announce the return of Worcester’s Independence Day firework

Event will also pay tribute to Worcester’s 300th birthday

Worcester, Mass., June 3, 2022—Fallon Health, in partnership with Discover Central Massachusetts, today announced the annual Worcester Independence Day fireworks will return this year. The event, which took a two a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, is set for Thursday, June 30 at Cristoforo Colombo (East) Park with a rain date of July 1. It will also have a special Tercentennial feel.

“The annual Independence Day fireworks are a wonderful Worcester tradition that Fallon is proud to have been part of for more than two decades,” said Richard Burke, President and CEO of Fallon Health. “This year, they take on special meaning as we celebrate the birth of our Nation and of our city. As Fallon Health marks our own milestone—45 years of improving health and inspiring hope in the communities we serve— we are pleased to bring back the show in new, exciting way."

The event lineup includes:

  • Onsite entertainment provided by WXLO 104.5 FM from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • A special performance from Grafton native and “The Voice” runner-up Ricky Duran from 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
  • A stunning display of patriotic fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. with a special synchronized music.

Batista, Acting City Manager for Worcester. “We’re also very grateful to Fallon Health for helping to restart this tradition as they continue to be a great partner in this community.”
